With foot-taping songs like “Hey Aditi” and “Papu can’t dance”, JTYJN, finally opens at the theatres starring debutant Imran Khan and Genelia D’souza who made her debut much earlier with Ritiesh Deshmukh, but the film bombed. But this lass seems to have made her mark in the South. Perhaps, this is her second-innings up north.
Essentially, the film is about friendships and love, and along with a motley crew which forms the supporting cast, this film in a nutshell is fun, light-hearted and delightful.
College-going students Jai Rathore and Aditi Mahant are the best of friends, one laidback, and the other boisterous, a case of opposites attract, and a wonderful rapport and relationship they share called friendship. However, it doesn’t occur to them that they would actually be perfect for each other, though it’s rather obvious to the rest of their friends and family. So much so they even go to the extent of setting the other up. Their motley crew comprising of various characters: Bombs, a lovable dumb blonde by Alishka Varde, Rotlu, the pessimist by Karan Makhija, Nirav Mehta as Jignesh and Sugandha Garg as Shaleen as the “hot girl” of the group.
So when Meghna (Manjari Fadnis) becomes Jai’s girlfriend, Aditi becomes envious of their relationship, and ends up bagging a man for herself and she ends up getting engaged to Sushant Modi (Ayaz Khan).
Will the two protagonists realize their love for each other? Well, you’ll just have to watch the film, now.
As far as the acting is concerned, Imraan shines, as do the others, as they hold their own.The other small appearances by the Khan brothers and their one-liners, Paresh Rawal, Naseeruddin Shah are hilarious.
AR Rahman’s music along with Rajeev Soorti's cinematography and writer-director Abbas Tyrewala are wonderful.
