Movie Review: The Happening

By far the most interesting work by Manoj Night Shyamalan, The Happening is all about a family and their horrifying story. After The Village, and Lady in the water,this comes as a breath of fresh air.

The story revolves around the father,adeptly played by Mark Wahlberg, who tries to escape after a natural crisis threatens their lives. When he, his wife and his friend's daughter try to leave town on a train, the driver loses radio contact and finally they end up stranded in a rural town with no way of communcation to the mainland. The spooky house where they take refuge, and how their lives are turned inside out is what this movie is all about. Spooky, and chilling, the movie is best suited for adult audiences.

Be prepared to hold on to your seats, and for the shrieks that fill the air with every mishap. Though the movie has traces of Signs and Sixth sense, it is after all Shyamalan's handywork.
