by Siddarth Ayyagari
It's already a well established fact that the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) is the undisputed chieftain of B-Schools in India. So one of the country's top management festivals coming from and IIM is no surprise. This flagship event of IIM Bangalore, Vista has been gathering the absolute best from the B-school and entrepreneurial world since its inception. Vista is the ideal platform for business students acting as a forum for both young aspiring managers and management veterans. Vista organises a whole lot of business-related events dealing with marketing, finance, operations, economics and social sciences, IT and lots more.
Vista 2010 has a lot of new and exciting additions to this year's festival. Amongst the various events to feature in this year's edition of Vista, Numero Uno is one of them that truly stands out. The event is the ultimate test of the participant's all-round knowledge of business and the ability to deliver under pressure situations. Contestants need to think on their feet and come up with unconventional solutions. Being a team player and having good entrepreneurial skills will also come in handy. This event happens to been one of the most exciting features of Vista with business titans battling it out for the summit.
Another great event to look out for is Social Responsibility. As the name suggests, the event is all about using management skills for the betterment of the society. Sparsh, one of the sub-events enables participants to work with a top NGO in Bangalore and get first hand experience in this discipline. Prakriti, the second sub-event under Social Responsibility, involves a case study with Vista 2010's partner WWF. Participants will get a chance to their bit for nature and help make a difference as managers. None of these unique events are set up in the typical air-conditioned environment, and act as litmus tests for aspiring managers. Apart from these events, there are loads of other events such as Debating, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Quiz, Strategy etc. with something for every aspect of management.
The spotlight events for 2010 are going to add some more glitter to the already dazzling Vista 2010. Post Meridian will act as a forum for today's management leaders to meet their successors. MBA graduates will get a chance to meet the big boys in the management world. The Media Conclave will see the who's who of Indian media share their invaluable experiences in the field. Former Union Cabinet Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar and Chairman and Co-founder of Teamlease Services Manish Sabharwal will also grace the event. Other spotlight events falling under the “Don't miss” category is the Corporate Exclusive featuring Software Czars, a Corporate Quiz and the NASSCOM Leadership summit and some great Workshops.
Altar Vista is the ultimate honour up for grabs at Vista 2010. The trophy is given to the B-School that scores the maximum points at 2010's edition of Vista.
