Run out of places that serve value-for-money Chinese fare, and yet have the urge to try something new? Head to The Orient, at Koramangala, bang opposite to Painted Platters.
Once you are comfortably ensconced at this first-floor eatery, it’s time to size up the décor. On a conservative’s scale it would count as average, but we would definitely not ignore its general air of homeliness and courteous service. And finally what makes all the difference is the food that, simply put, is good, doesn’t leave a dent in your wallet and certainly makes up for the average interiors.
Be it the soup, starter, main course or dessert, everything is just right in terms of flavour, texture, and portion. You could start your meal with a plate of chicken momos, Malaysian prawns, non-vegetarian salad or squids in red chilly sauce. In the main course, do try Lakchew chicken, Thai noodles and Orient fried rice. The desserts too are equally tasty.
But if you are ravenous and an a la carte won’t cut it, fret not for The Orient offers vegetarian and non-vegetarian buffet at a reasonable price. And if you want to catch an early-evening snack, there is room for that too, as it serves scrumptious snack between 3 and 6 pm.
