Your little one is growing up and you are at your wits' end trying to manage work and her restlessness. Sometimes the idea of putting her to a playschool comes floating by but is instantly snubbed by worries. Fret not, as Chennai is home to some really good playschools, so good that you’d have difficulty in bringing back your moppet home once you register her there.
Bamboola (RA Puram) takes in children from the time they turn one and a half years. For about 3 hours every day, for three terms, starting in June, Bamboola keeps them occupied, getting their creative juices flowing.
If you live in Kilpauk, you could check out Little Buds Play School. Children look forward to spending time with their favourite teachers, playing games, colouring the walls and going out in the garden trying to find interesting bugs and insects. Just pack some snacks and water with your kid and the caretaker makes sure he eats it.
Children need something to keep them occupied, be it games, books, music or art. So, don’t worry about your toddler going around drawing circles on your wall, send him to Abhyaas Playschool (Thiruvanmiyur) instead. Here she will learn how to interact with other kids, share her belongings, bond with teachers, and come home all energised.
Some of the other playschools that you can check out are Aarambh Play School (T Nagar) and Euro Kids (Teynampet). Most of these places keep your child engrossed in some activity or the other for about 3 hours, from 9 am to 12 pm, during which time you can get all your chores done.
Don’t worry about your child, she is in safe hands, and is not missing you too much. Being with other kids of her own age, she learns more than what she would have, being at home and glued to the TV.
