Lvl 4: Restaurant with a view

Whether you are a true blue Chennaiite or someone merely passing by, you’d surely gain from a visit to the beautiful rooftop restaurant, Lvl 4, at Citi Centre (Radhakrishnan Salai). Book a table, gather the gang and head for dinner.

The first thing that strikes you about Lvl 4 is the broad sweeping view that you get to see of the city and the sea line. The rustic tables, wrought-iron chairs and dimly-lit wooden alcoves along one edge of the dining area all set the mood for a lovely evening. If you are not too comfortable outside, you could sit inside as well.

The menu at Lvl 4 consists of a fusion of South Indian, Chinese, Continental and a few North Indian dishes. They don’t serve alcohol, but do try their mocktails, the best of the lot being Strawberry Posh Cadillac.

From there on, as you devour the wheat bread toast, or the pasta in creamy sauces, you will eagerly wait your next course. The spinach-based paneer fauladi and the tarkari Biryani are simply divine. As you dig into the sinful litchi ice cream, you are transported to another world.

Lvl 4 has a private dining area, with a small kitchen, where you could have small family gatherings. As you stroll around, you are in awe of how much attention has been paid to details. All in all, the evening has been wonderful. Agreed, it is slightly on the expensive side, but once in a while splurging is fun.

Planning your next dining-out?

Thats the tragedy with Chennai. There is not a single decent watering hole. It is attributable to some archaic law that says "To serve liquor one must have a 30 room establishment". This is the one thing I miss most after relocating from Delhi to Chennai. I can tolerate the crowds, the narrow roads, Rs 17/- toll for a 2 Lane highway, inflated rentals but the fact that one cant have a nice chilled glass of beer with one's friends is really depressing to say the least.

Hi, I'm from Malaysia and I love to read and keep myself updated about the latest restaurants and events, especially the Chennai ones. But please add a couple of nice photos of the restaurants, its food items and / or its surroundings. It will definitely make the reviews more attractive and meaningful. Thank you.
