The one store that has made it big from being simply a garage store is Just Casuals on Sterling Road. Its shelves heave with casuals and formals in familiar names like Banana Republic, Old Navy and Gap. Export surplus, they surely are, but their quality and price are unbeatable.

Drive down a couple of kilometers to Kilpauk, look for the confectionery king Hot Breads and bang opposite you’ll find this funky-looking shop called Show Off. With jazzed-up windows and shimmering silver interiors this store sure makes a statement. Check out the collection of men’s and women’s wear, not to mention the elaborate party-wear section.
