Tired of the same old southern fare? It’s about time you teased your palate with some exciting Punjabi fare, in our very own Chennai!
Think Punjabi, and you are likely to be reminded of mouth-watering images of succulent butter chicken, sarson-ka-saag, makki-ki-roti, the ubiquitous dal makhni, and various kebabs. And dishing out all this to you is the Dhabba Express.
Situated on the first floor of Eldorado Building, Nungambakkam High Road, Dhaba Express strives for a rustic décor. The ceiling is covered with matted straw, charpoys dot the courtyard, while brassware, mud pots and lanterns adorn its walls.
Highly recommended dishes include kebabs, zafrani tandoor prawns, and biriyani. The chicken dishes are sadly average. The vegetarian fare, too, is equally good especially the palak, bhindi and gobi dishes. On the sweeter side, their jalebis and kulfis are strictly okay.
That’s not all: like the delicious a la carte dishes, Dhabba Express's wallet-friendly buffet lunches and dinners are a huge crowd puller as well.
