Kids love it and adults consider it a happy distraction. Big Chill, at Nehru Place and Khan Market, is not a new phenomenon for the seasoned Dilliwala. But, this restaurant’s finger-licking American and American-style Italian cuisine induce a new gastronomic thrill, every time they dine here.
The “A” factor
Big Chill’s ambience is defined by Hollywood kitsch, with old movie posters adorning the walls, loud music and a general joie de vivre. With the likes of Marilyn Monroe and Clint Eastwood giving you company, it’s hard not to feel a little heady. Big Chill makes sure that you feel at home as soon as you walk in. The Nehru Place outlet is more comfortable than the Khan Market ones.
Food, glorious food
If you are fond of cheese and baked food, you will love the Big Chill experience. This restaurant is really liberal with the cheese. So whether you order the baked pasta with vegetables in a spicy tomato sauce, the lasagna or a chicken pizza, you get to dig into hot melted cheese all the way. Drooling already? Hold on, there’s more. Big Chill does good salads and soups as well. The bread that accompanies the pasta is fresh out of the oven, and delicious.
Big Chill’s malted thick shakes are as popular as the delectable dishes. Try the Oreo shake, the banana malt or choose from the other available flavours. If you need a hot beverage, do try the cappuccinos or hot chocolate, topped with sweet whipped cream. But be sure to leave room for dessert.
This restaurant is famous and recommended for the homemade ice-creams (the vanilla is lovely), frozen yoghurt and blueberry cheesecake. Chocolate lovers, it’d be a sin to miss their large helping of rich chocolate fudge cake! Calories? Shake it out to the winds.
How good is your waiter
Friendly waiters will never let you sit around, eyeing the neighbouring tables. While being prompt in taking and delivering your order, they also take care to keep you informed of any new dishes or the day’s specials. An entire meal for two, including beverages and desserts, would roughly cost you Rs 1000*. That isn’t a big price you pay, given all that you get in return.
The chilling can’t get any bigger, we assure you!
