Paharganj, the haven for backpacking tourists, is dotted with numerous cafes catering to the taste-buds of the average foreign traveller. Try out any of the eating joints along the bylanes and you are up for a real surprise, as almost all of these places offer good international cuisine at throwaway prices!

Appetite—The Food Joint has Italian and continental on its menu but it is perhaps the only place in Paharganj to offer delectable Mexican fare. You can pick up yak cheese by the kilo from here as well. Sam’s Café’s famous Cannelloni and sinful desserts taste better when topped with the view of the busy by-lanes below. Sam's dishes out some scrumptious Israeli cuisine as well.

Navrang might not be an ideal name for a restaurant which serves delectable Korean cuisine, but that’s how things run at this amazing ilaka. Managed by a Korean expat, it has a skeletal menu to choose from, that includes dishes like taye yook bokkum (fried pork and vegetables). Try the kimbab, the Korean version of sushi for a fairly measly sum.

Club India keeps a sizeable part of the globe happy with its Tibetan, Japanese, Italian and Israeli dishes. The rooftop is a wee bit cramped, but if you climb the flight of stairs you might just be rewarded with a wonderful ambience. Humus and falafel are the best bet at this eatery.

Golden Café is the most economical of them all. It has more than a hundred items on the menu and is famous for its mashed potato and the Oriental selection. Khosla Café has wonderfully-concocted milkshakes, especially the innovative papaya chocolate shake!

You might want to believe that perhaps the food isn’t as hygienic, keeping in view the locality, but rest assured, the only turn-offs are the chaotic traffic and the crowds around!
