Tucked away in the swanky Hauz Khas area is a North Western Frontier restaurant called Kabila. A couple of decades ago it was reckoned as one of the most popular restaurants of Delhi. Today, Kabila may have lost some of its glimmer, glitter and stardom, but the years have only added to the quality of its food and service.
This spacious restaurant is housed on the first floor of the Aurobindo Place shopping complex. With a rustic ambience and a comfy seating arrangement, it has gained a reputation for hosting large parties at a go. On weekends and select nights, you get to enjoy live Indian music from ghazals to golden Bollywood oldies.
They offer mostly non vegetarian cuisine and are popular for dishes made of chicken, mutton and seafood such as fish and prawns. Equally enjoyed by the foodies is its tempting range of veg delicacies like the tandoori mushroom, veg seekh kababs, vegetable Jhalfreizi and malai koftas. The only dish that doesn’t please the taste buds is the dal makhani. Do sample the tandoori chicken and mutton boti kebabs which have a scrumptious texture and are truly mouth watering. The fish tikka is also a hot favoutite and has many takers.
Dig into the flavourful and spicy mutton biryani for a satiating experience. Vegetarians will find the lightly aromatic muter pulao equally delicious. The butter naans, lasooni naan and other Indian breads are the perfect accompaniment to Kabila’s rich gravies. You could even indulge in a drink of your choice from the bar or choose the refreshing Jal Jeera which has a great taste and is good for digestion. Polish off your meal with the lip smacking kulfi and you’ll leave here with a promise to come back soon!
