Does the thought of crisp nachos with melted cheese get you hungry? Do your cravings include soft fajitas laden with spicy beans and salsa? If you find yourself already pining, then you just might be a self confessed Tex-Mex food lover, and it’s about time you get yourself over to Delhi’s latest on the Tex-Mex food circuit – Sancho’s!
The Ambience:
Sancho’s in South Extension- 2 market is Mexican all the way right from recreating the warm comfort of a Mexican café to the contrasting colours used; potted plants, artefacts from Spain, blue wall tiles with graffiti and an awesome salsa bar! The restaurant is split over two levels – one exclusively for dining and one that is a lounge. The second level is where you can get to for a `Mexican’ party with DJs, weekend theme parties, Latin music, Mariachi bands and, hold your breath…flamenco and salsa dancers!
The Salsa bar and Mexican delights:
Sancho’s food is finger-licking good and will have you coming back for more. What stands out in this restaurant is its Salsa Bar, an exciting and new concept for Delhi’s restaurants. It is at this bar that you can sample a range of salsas from verde to Pico and all in between. Crisp tortilla chips are offered to lovers of this Mexican delight to enjoy the salsa of their choice. One can also accompany this with the very famous Tequila even though a Margarita will do just as well. The menu includes Texas, Californian and Mexican cuisines all served in the authentic Mexican wooden platter. If you love your food spicy, do try the Sizzling Fajitas, the Burritos and the Enchiladas. The prawn burritos are exceptional. Also have your fill of the Mexican beans, Guacamole and the Mexican flavoured rice. The food will do justice to your appetite. You won’t find much choice when it comes to dessert but try the Capirotada – the sweet Mexican bread pudding.
Worth your monies:
The service in this restaurant has nothing wanting. The waiters make you feel at home at once and serve you well without being overbearing. The prices are reasonable for the ambience and delectable food and the portions are quite satisfactory.
Adios Amigos!
