Adventure and Activity at Goa's Adventure Clubs
Goa is a haven for adventure seekers and the has some of the best facilities in India for sports lovers. The activities include water sports, go-karting, scuba diving and snorkeling, hiking, fishing, and dolphin sightseeing trips. Barracuda Diving India began operations in 1993 to promote the sport of recreational diving in India. It is a scuba diving centre based in Baga. They provide the highest standards of diver education, staff training, safety, equipment and dive services and denote a quality control assurance to divers worldwide. The Barracuda team has received three PADI Awards of Excellence for outstanding dedication to diver safety, education and environmental conservation. They offer daily dive trips/guided wreck dives, customized itineraries, PADI certification courses and professional packages and much more for the divers.

The National Institute of Watersports (NIWS) was setup by the Ministry of Tourism as an apex institute of training, education, consultancy and research to usher in an era of leisure water sporting segment in the country. It covers the entire range of water sport disciplines such as life saving, boat handling, sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, scuba diving, river rafting and kayaking. The institute is envisaged to function as a model for similar initiatives/entrepreneurs with regard to faculty and staff, training, infrastructure, water sport equipment and specialised repair and berthing facilities.
Another name to reckon with is the Indian Adventure Club that operates an exciting range of extreme sports and activities to suit all ages and abilities. One can choose from a wide range of activities like trekking, back packing, scuba diving, snorkeling, rock climbing, rappelling, biking, bungee jumping, white water rafting, kayaking, mountain biking, river crossing and much more. IAC is well equipped with latest adventure gear, safety equipments and well trained & certified instructors to handle events of any magnitude.
The high adrenalin sport jet skiing involves towing at high speeds generated by 150 hp engines that drag you on your ski behind the boat. The Colva, Calangute, Candolim, Mobor, Miramar and Rajbaga beaches offer this sport that is beyond doubt the most thrilling experience of them all. Normally preferred around winter season, as the waves go easy, the instructors and operators on the beach are raring to go with their life jackets and wet suits. Proper training and right gear is available with these operators.
Go-karting is the latest craze in Goa. The best place for go-karting is located on the Panaji-Margao Highway at Nuvem. The track there is almost 500 meters long with lots of twists. Average speeds of 70 kilometers per hour are common. The other go-karting track is at Arpora. The track there is over 300 meters long and the course is much easier.
