New Movies in Pune this week

Are you tired of spending the weekends watching same old sitcoms and movies on TV?  How about catching up with some new movies releasing this week along with your gang of buddies? Here are some of the movies that you can watch over the weekend.

Start your weekend with the Hindi movie Hisss, directed by Jennifer Chambers Lynch, starring Mallika Sherawat, Irrfan Khan, Jeff Doucette, Divya Dutta and Raman Trikha. You can also watch the dubbed version of Hisss in Tamil and Telugu. The story revolves around the vengeance of  a Nagin or snake woman (Mallika Sherawat) whose mate has been captured by an American hunter (Jeff Douchette). The snake transforms into an attractive woman and ventures into the city in desperate search of her lover, with vengeance on her mind and venom in her fangs. Watch Ram Gopal Verma 's new flick Rakht Charitra, starring Vivek Oberoi, Radhika Aapte, Shatrugna Sinha and Surya Sivakumar. You can also watch Rakht Charitra in Telugu and Tamil. The movie is based on the real life story of  Partiala Ravindra and his long-term rivalry with Madela Cheruvu Suri, both of them being highly popular in the world of politics in Andhra Pradesh. In the movie, Partiala Ravindra's  character is played by Vivek Oberoi and Madela Cheruvu Suri's character is played by Tamil actor, Surya. Paritala Ravi takes law into his hands to avenge the murder of his father and his brother. His name sends shivers down the spines of not only his rivals, but even the law enforcement agencies. Watch Rakht Charitra for a dark and gritty drama.

If you are in a mood to watch a ligh-hearted romantic movie then go for Abbas Tyrewala 's Jhootha Hi Sahi starring John Abraham, Pakih Tyrewala and Madhavan. The movie is about Siddharth (John Abraham), a simple guy who works in a bookstore in London during the day and volunteers to work on a suicide helpline during night. Siddharth receives a call from  a girl named Mishka (Pakhi) one day on his suicide helpline. After repeated interactions with Mishka, Siddharth falls in love with her  and seeks her out in real life and soon there is love in the air. But Mishka doesn't know that her stammering boyfriend is actually the smart friend over phone. Does love prevail when the web of lies is busted? Watch this movie to find out more.

You can also watch Ajoy Varma directed Dus Tola starring Manoj Bajpai, Aarti Chhabria, Siddharth Makkar, Pallavi Sharda, Govind Namdeo and Asrani. The film is the story of Shankar (Manoj Bajpayee), a goldsmith who lives in a quaint coastal town, Sonapur. Shankar falls in love with Suvarnalata (Aarti Chhabria) but Suvarnalata's father, Daya Shastri (Dilip Prabhavalkar) is against their budding romance. Suvarnalata then cooks up a fool-proof plan to convince her father. She asks Shankar to gift her a 10-tola gold necklace so that he can prove to her father that he is capable of looking after her post-marriage. Shankar gifts the 10-tola necklace to Suvarnalata after putting everything he has, at stake. However, Daya Shastri still wants his daughter to marry Ravi (Siddharth Makkar). Does Suvarnalata marry Shankar or Ravi? Watch this movie to know more.

If you want to catch some action and comedy this weekend then go for the English movie The Other Guy, directed by  Adam McKay and starring Will Ferrell, Samuel L. Jackson, Christopher Danson, Mark Wahlberg, Eva Mendes and others. Action-hero detectives P.K. Highsmith (Samuel L. Jackson) and Dwayne Johnson (Christopher Danson) are the hot-shots of the New York City Detectives. When they’re put out of commission, it leaves a space open for a new pair of crime-fighting super-cops. Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg) and Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell), seize the opportunity to fill the shoes of the city's top cops whom they idolize, only to realize that things are not going as per plan. The mismatched duo must now look past their differences and take on a high-profile investigation. Watch this funny flick and enjoy the comic chemistry between Ferrell and Wahlberg.

English movie lovers can also watch Gary Winick's romantic flick Letters To Juliet, starring Amanda Seyfried, Chris Egan, Vanessa Redgrave, Gael García Bernal, and Franco Nero. The movie is about Sophie Hall (Amanda Seyfried) who travels to Verona, Italy with her fiance, chef Victor (Gael García Bernal) to have what she hopes will be a pre-honeymoon. In Verona, Sophie joins a group of volunteers who respond to the letters of love-addled travelers seeking advice about love. After answering a an old letter dated 1951, Sophie inspires its author to travel to Italy in search of her long-lost love and sets off a chain of unexpected events.
