I sincerely wish that i did not have to spend so much money from my pocket for my specialised dental treatments in civil if the facilities were available in fauj..except maybe palam dental center or command dental centers there is no lab facility in any fauji dental centers to make high quality crowns and do a root canal..the number of patients is large and infrastructure lacking..i suggest that the system hire specialised dentists from civil in large numbers or empower financially fauji dentists to refer patients to specialised dental clinics for specialised dental treatment like root canal and crown capping..all the officers I met in fauj are taking capping treatment from civil spending money from own pocket.. I had the worst experience with the doctors of Army Base Hospital, Delhi.
My mother met with a road accident. She had facial injuries, fractures which remain undiagnosed by the doctors. She was discharged just within 2 days. In these two days, doctors visited just twice and thrice and let me tell you the senior doctors used to come just once in morning and the apprentice doctors lacked knowledge about their medical studies. The orthopedician who was rude with the patients (I saw his behaviour with the patients, while he was on round- he was urging an old lady to walk who had fracture, she was not able to walk since it was paining badly, he said Amma tu chalegi nahi toh tujhe discharge kar dete hai and then he pushed her on the bed with the ... View More help of one attender) said she had no fracture even after my mother said many times that her pain has not reduced. My mother kept telling to the doctors that she still had pain in the shoulder, and this was taken into attention only by one of the gentleman senior doctor, who asked the junior doctors to get another x-ray and since swelling of the face did not reduce an x-ray of the face was also done. Later it was revealed that she had fractures in both shoulder and face.
When I took those reports to that inhuman Orthopedician he amended everything which he had written in the previous reports. This shows the lack of knowledge in his field. I saw my mother suffering and no body coming up to help her.
Thanks to that senior gentleman doctor who asked to get another x-rays otherwise my mother would have got discharge without proper treatment. Doctors like him need to be promoted and appreciated whereas doctors like that orthopedician needs to be kicked out of the system, who does not even know how to behave with his patients. Not only that orthopedician there are many doctors in all these large medical institutions of defence who are not doing their job properly. Doctors who are said next to god and whose job itself is mankind should not be inhuman and should not lack knowledge about their field.
I wonder, is the recruitment in medical instituitions of defence done properly??
Of course Not otherwise we did not have to face such things.
Just because the defence doctors salaries will not be effected since they are central government employee, it doesnot mean that they will not take care of the patients nicely and will treat them badly .Had they been practicing in private hospitals then they would have surely practiced their job with sincerity because their salary would have been effected.
First of all these doctors should understand that they are called next to god and the profession which they have chosen is nothing else but mankind.
Secound they are Defenece personnels and this kind of behaviour is not at all appropriate and is not expected from a man who serves for the country.
I am forced to write such a negative review because I am fed up and tired with such ignorance of the patients by these doctors. My mother and my family had a terrible experience.
Besides the ill treatment of the doctors the food given to the patients was awful. The maid use to steal eggs and other food items and patients were not given the appropriate food. The bathrooms and restrooms were in pathetic situations, totally unhygienic to use.
And let me tell you that I am talking about the wards meant for the soldiers and their families and not about the wards of commisioned officers and their families. There is a hell lot of difference in both. The families of officers don't have to face such things. Their wards are clean, hygienic and doctors monitor the patients on regular basis. Then, why this ignorance towards the families of non commisioned soldiers. Is a normal soldier not human? He serves for the country more than an officer. Still he and his families has to face all these things. The worst part is that at least in medical institutions there should not be partialities because for a doctor patient should be patient not a normal soldier or an officer.
If the defence hospitals are in such situations, you can imagine about the other government hospitals of India.
I would request honourable Prime-minister of India that if Indian government can not facilitate the required medical facilties to the soldiers(who serve for the nation) and their families then please close down these so called medical institutions of defence and increase the payments of the soldiers so that they don't have to rely on such pathetic hospitals and can get their treatment in other hospitals or the other option is to improve the situations of the hospitals and recruitment of the doctors who have in depth knowledge about their subjects and practice. Hospitals should be monintored by doing regular inspections by higher officials of the government and at the same time it should also be seen that there is no partiality based on ranks atleast in hospitals.View Less
