A real loooong back my father had a operation here for his gastric problem. He was told they successfully took a small chunk of his intestine out. However now after 15-20 yrs, he had some tests done where they confirmed none of his intestines were touched. So they opened up and stitched him back and laughing all the way to bank.

That said am not telling how it might be now.. But you might get to know of it only after a decade or two :-)
