A slightly more pragmatic view here... Agree that there are many books and they're priced less when compared to new ones. But, but, hold it there... i'm a buyer of used books since
last 18 or so years and will say that this place is one of the most expensive places for used books.. I've bought used books from many places in India and abroad and let me tell you that this
place is one of the more expensive ones. The shop owner is just unwilling to price the books reasonably and prefers fat margins. Since this is a proprietor-type shop, owner calls the shots. The guy
comes across as a very arrogant person, someone with a ''take it or leave it' attitude. Just to cross-check my views, i've spoken to few customers there and many of them aired
similar views. One of them is a regular there and he was hoping that if another 2-3 players working on the same scale come in (competition), this guy will have to mend his ways. He's built the
four floor shop he currently has simply because of the huge margins he gets from those used books. I tried to reason on the price with him and since he didn't bother, have stopped buying from
there. For instance, a used book which he sells there for Rs.350 is available abroad for 3-4 cents!! I've got friends abroad who keep sending me books once in a way.. Just imagine the kind of
margins the guy keeps. Lately i've got to know a source who supplies used books to him and he sounded upset that Blossom makes all the money while they're doing the hard work.
