Editors Note: A destination for tourists and devotees, Bangalores ISKCON temple is a modern chapter in the history of temples. The dome of this imposing building is a landmark in the city. Devotees from far and wide throng the temple and on any given day a darshan will involve a one-hour wait. A VIP ticket will help you cut down the tour-time by half an hour. The only way to see the temple is along the charted course, which takes you through the main gilded shrine and a basement temple-bazaar with religious literature, incense sticks and rosaries on sale as well as refreshments.
How to get there: It is Located approximately 9 kms from Main Bus Terminus & City Railway Station, 18 kms from HAL Airport on the Chord road, Rajajinagar OR It is Situated on Chord Road, From Bangalore Bus stand take Bus number 80, 80A, 80B, 80C, 80D, 252F & Bus stop to get down is Mahalakshmi Layout Entrance. From City Market (K.R.Market) take bus number 77, 77E & Bus stop to get down is Mahalakshmi Layout Entrance & 76, 91D Bus stop to get down Rajajinagar Ist Block & From Shivajinagar take bus number 79E & Bus stop to get down is Mahalakshmi Layout Entrance
Details: The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), also known as 'the Hare Krishna' movement, was founded in 1966 in New York City by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.
