Institute Of Bioinformatics And Applied Biotechnology: Established in 2002 by the department of Information Technology and Biotechnology, Government of Karnataka, in association with ICICI Bank, Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology aims to attain higher standards in Bioinformatics and Biotechnology through entrepreneurship, education and research. The institute offers an eighteen-month postgraduate course in Bioinformatics for regular students and several short-term courses for corporate professionals. With state-of-the-art facilities like a well-equipped library and modern labs the institute also boasts of having several faculty chairs funded by organisations like BIOCON and Astra Zeneca Research Foundation
