had ordered two 1&1/2 kg vanilla cakes for my twins' 3rd birthday celebration. Sudarshan (at their factory) suggested I get them done in sugar paste because that would look best. I agreed even though I felt that was expensive - the cost was three times the normal. Rs. 1200 per kg.
There were no more conversations or discussions. I picked up the cakes on Thursday morning at 9.45 to be cut in the kids' class at 10-10.15am. The cakes did indeed look beautiful and as close to my design as could be. But when my daughter cut the cake, the sugar icing just fell off the cake and the entire cake crumbled. Further cuts of slices did more damage and soon both the cakes looked like a complete mess!
