How to get there: The main entrance to Rashtrapati Bhavan is known as Gate 35, and is located on Prakash Vir Shastri Avenue. Tourists can take local buses, taxis and autorickshaws from different parts of the city to reach here.
Details: Rashtrapati Bhavan is the official residence of the President of India. Originally built for the Governor General of India, aka the Viceroy, this was known as the Viceroy's House till 1950. The architecture of the building is an aesthetic mix of classical European and Mughal styles. Of the total 340 rooms few serve as the President of India's personal quarters while others are allocated to guests and dignitaries on state visit. The famous Ashoka Hall is the venue for most official events that take place in the Bhawan. Banquet Hall has a capacity to seat 140 diners and is adorned with intricate Indian motifs and chandeliers. The windows of the Rashtrapati Bhawan open out to the beautiful Mughal Gardens.
