Gangaram hospital is an over expensive, money focused , unprofessional, institute where Patients and their families are put last and every effort is made to prolong the suffering of a patient, keping the familiy in the dark, in order to continue to make more money. Hygene in the so called HDU department is next to nothing with sweepers doing the job of a nurse and using dirty hands to get the patient to urinate and leaving faces in an open pan under teh patients bed for long periods to spread germs while waiting for the sweeper to take it and clean it. The state of the Patient toliets in this unit is also appauling with unflushed toliets, dirty sinks and open faces pans lying around. Patients commonly catch infecions in this unit and in the hospital leading to death. Patients are put on a ventilator without explanaining the risks to the famility and letting the family meet the patient before doing so. Expenses are in the range of 50,000 to a Lakh rupees per day for HDU and ICU resp. and bill errors are a common occurence requiring the Customer to do teh run around to correct them. Private customers are mixed with teh government customers receiving the same treatment although they have to pay many times more for prvate treatment. I would never recommend this hospital to anyone, despite the good consultants that work there. Gangaram needs o do a lot to address these issues and concentrate on Customer and Patient care rather than focusing purely on money to ensure it keeps its place in teh top ranking hospitals in India.
