Dr. Anupam Dasgupta , Triangular Park , Kolkata

Dr Dasgupta is not only a brilliant Neurologist, he is a great and honest human being. There are mushroom of diagnostic centres in Calcutta with very poor quality. And final responsibility of patients' diagnosis & treatment is Dr Dasgupta's. There is Secretarial help to the patients to the best centres in his/her neighbourhood. There are many who go to their places of choice without any problem. There are people who throws mud for this simple secretarial help, saying Dr Dasgupta owns this Diagnostic centre or even the Chemist shop. This is very sad indeed.

Dr Dasgupta is the best neurologist available now. His intellect, sharp diagnostic acumen and computer like knowledge help him to diagnose patients within seconds. After diagnosis, and telling the patient about possible prognosis, he does not need to waste any time to exchange pleasantries after the examination. He works under pressure as many patients come without appointment and as his chamber & residence are same. And there are mushroom like diagnostic centres without any quality. His secretarial help to guide the patients to the best centres can be misunderstood by people whose judgement is superficial.

Dr Dasgupta is undoubtedly having the best clinical ability to diagnose and treat his patients. He has acquired this skill over years.
Yes, I agree that he is impatient and does not listen to his patients with full attention and sympathy. That could be because of his age.
But the reception desk is too much.
Most alarming is that he prefers that all his patients should get the investigations from the clinincs / labs he recommends. This is a serious concern for the society and people raise eyebrows quite usually, what could be the vested interest behind that.
I suggest there should be some restrictions / checks & balances to be imposed by MCI to such greedy physicians.
