To,
JanakiDevi Public School
My niece (brother's daughter) who is 5 and a half years old has taken admission to your school in Jaipur.
It has been only three days and we have already received many complaints from your school regarding your management. Particularly, The Principal is not all cordial with the students and their parents.
PROBLEMS FACED BY MY NIECE -
- On the first day itself there was no one to tell her where her classroom is, after she had stepped down of the bus. She simply followed an elderly student who finally let her to her classroom. There was no one on behalf of the school to govern the situation. The main point being - IT WAS HER FIRST DAY.
- My niece is a left-handy and so she was unable to open the ... View Morebuckle of her skirt during the recess period to go to toilet. It was a new uniform for her (previous being a frock) and so it was hard for her to get accustomed to it. But there was no one to assist her despite she looking for someone for help.
- She didn't had her lunch that day and there was no class-teacher to supervise the same.
RESPONSE WHICH WE RECEIVED FROM THE SCHOOL -
- My Father and niece's mother went to the school to discuss the issue regarding - no one being present at the time of the child boarding the bus after the school or even de-boarding the bus in the morning. What the principal had to say was - "We don't teach our students such things. They should become independent and must know by their own that where is the class." - [either your principal is moron or perhaps she expect the children aged 6 to be intelligent enough to know the direction of their class-rooms without any guidance - she should be knowing that even an adult person feel uncomfortable and lost at a new place]
- My Mother called up the Reception and asked the lady to handle the call to the student's class-teacher - for a formal know-how on how these issues are being handled. The reception denied the request saying that no direct interaction is possible with the teachers. Whatever is the issue, she will convey from her end. [RIDICULOUS]. When the issue was conveyed, the receptionist discussed it with the class-teacher (as she said) and came back with a blunderous answer - "Your child didn't eat. We can't do anything. And regarding helping her out in opening the buckle of her skirt, we don't teach such things to our children. We expect them to be self-dependent" [DEAR SCHOOL, IF YOU EXPECT A 6 YR OLD TO BE SELF-DEPENDENT, KINDLY HIRE HER FOR A JOB SO THAT SHE CAN EARN BY HERSELF AND FEED HERSELF TOO].
- Finally, my brother wanted to have a look at the syllabus (as every other sincere parent). And the reply which the Principal gave him was - "THIS IS THE FIRST TIME EVER THAT SOMEONE IS ASKING FOR A SYLLABUS" (ridiculing my brother's intentions).
MY CONCLUSIONS -
You are a pretty big school, but your institution has a small heart which can accommodate only money and greed. Your top management don't know how to treat children, they don't know how to speak to kid's parents, you avoid interaction between parents and class-teachers (zero-transparency) and you expect our children to learn good things from your school.
May be a single child cancelling his/her admission won't affect you, but as a media person and most importantly as a responsible citizen, I intend to spread the world and even visit you guys once to know your mentality. Our experience with small schools had been very impressive. They were humans who wanted to inculcate values into our children whom we send to school with so much aspirations.View Less
