I schooled there from grade VI up to completion of grade X. Batch of 1984. Much later than those who have posted their comments here. Sr Carminah D'Mello was my principal. I owe my 'self-confidence' to her and at 45 I still have a good load of it. Tough to crush. She was very strict but under her stern exterior there was a warm, gentle and caring mother. She held me up and showed me the way when all about me was collapsing. She was impartial and ubiased. I met her when visiting Mumbai in the late nineties. She was very unwell then - at first she didn't quite remember me but gradually she did. I kept in touch with her on phone. One day she told me she was moving to Goa as she no longer could take on any more responsibilities ( in charge of the hostel etc) She made me promise I'd visit her in Goa but never did get a chance to go to Goa. I hope she is well - wherever she is, she will always be in my prayers. I owe her all the gratitude for making me realize my self-worth. Sr I love you!

Pam, Do you recollect the school used to admit boys up to the fourth standard. I was a boy student in the school from second to fourth standard in the late 50s. Mother Claudiana was the principal then. The tall buidling that you now see did not exist. There used to be an open ground there where the morning assembly was held. A lot of fond memories of my childhood at Villa Thresa.

I went there from 1966 1968. The principal was an Irish nun, mother Aine. At the time there were very few white children there. We were from Ireland. My sister took her first holy communion there, still have the photos. Have very fond memories of the place. We used to go swimming every afternoon after school in the nearby Breach Candy swimming pool.

I went to that school from 1957 for a few years and Villa Thersa is also one of my fondest memories of my childhood. I wish that there was an alumni listing so that I could get in touch with other students from that time. I remember I used to play with my friend,Christine Lobo in her house opposite the school. She was the daughter of the Police Officer. I used to be driven there by car or bus every morning from Worli. Then there was a girl called Babette Wharton (we both collected stamps), a boy called Vladimir and Brenda Francis both of whom I took Holy Communion with. I still have the photos of us taken at the school on that day. The school was run by Maltese nuns who spoke Italian at that time. The Italian gardens were very beautiful. I would love to see them again. There were also Swiss, German and American pupils at that time. I wonder if some of you might read this and get in touch. It would be great if you could get in touch.
