The Rice Bowl: Visit for the Crispy Spinach, Pork Meatball Soup, Singapore Style Spare Ribs, and Pineapple Fried Rice. The Rice Bowl has been around for decades, and has the distinction of being one of Bangalores oldest Chinese restaurants. Loyal customers go back three generations true testimony to the quality of food and consistency in service. As for the Phad Thai Noodles this isnt on the menu, but is fabulous, all on its own, with no accompaniments whatsoever. They do serve alcohol, and its easy on the pocket. Book a table if you wanted to be seated immediately.

Like many other restaurants, Rice Bowl for me conjures up the old world charm of my early professional and life in Bangalore and i went back yesterday after almost a period of 15 years for a relaxed meal. Me and my wife decided that we will NEVER go back to this place. NEVER AGAIN. NEVER.
The pricing is quite comparable to any other upmarket Chinese dos. Yes it might be cheaper, but a average lunch or dinner will set you back by apprx. 2k a couple of beers included.
The service is DISMAL - BAD ! these guys are employing poor chaps who can speak english or hindi. The menu ordering is an exercise in human non-verbal communication.

Nice place with a great ambience. Food is excellent and prices are a bit expensive but Chinese has always been that way..!! Nice place to hang around with friends on a weekend but be there before the crowd sets in else it becomes a bit difficult to find seats..!!

rice bowl can never be forgotten even if a hundred chinese restaurants open all around town! tasty food, good prices, relaxing ambience... rice bowl at lavelle road is a very good place for a nice cosy meal on a week day. go early or you'll have to wait to get a table! try the pork spare ribs.
