After new admn took over beneficial changes have been effected particularly in the field of medical clinic Mess Library Seminars the employees of IOA have become disciplined and rendered real service to the public as well as to members. the new launch at centinary building under preparation progresses fine.the supervision by Gs and Js is wel done Thank u all.
i suggest that IOA News journal can be uploaded in IOA website as the Journal is prepared for printing in digital form
i further propose that spl GB Body is convened by the middle of May 2016 so that we can comply with the deadline by which the new billl will become law denying IOA to carry out amendments of objectve clauses of IOA as Proposed by
G.Ponnambalam senior member of IOA. Such an amendment does not involve cancellation or Merger or Dissolution of IOA. Shri Rjaratnam is of the view that we should not forego the cent percent IT exemption. It ;is not tax exemption that is imsportant but the control of IOA IN our hands is crucial for focussing service to members of IOA
if we miss this oopportunity the IOA wii be a trust forever and it will come under the control of IT Dept. besides we will have to pay INcome Tax as activities of IOA are commercial in nature as pointedj out by the IT Tribunal. AS such IOA will have to pay INcome tax before we claim IT exemption as a trust. Moreover we cannot render any service to members of ioa without the IT Dept approving such service in each case. The previous Admn obtained such approval.
Further I propose that the Library functions all through the week and is opened by 7 AM to 1 PM and kept open from 3PM to 7 PM for the use of students and public. Forenoon session is important as most readers come for the daily newspapers only. An OA in addition to the Librarian would be adequate to serve the changes.
