I was new in Hyderabad and staying in my company's guest house in Banjara Hills Road no 11. Bored of same kind of food in the guest house, I started looking out for some affordable eating options. Eureka I discovered Khansama!! It looks like a kirana store with basic seating arrangement for 15-20 people. Ambiance is word which cannot be used for this place :-) . It had typical dhabba looks that cry out loudly that "come in I am a cheap place". A glimpse at the menu confirmed that the place is light on pocket. I ordered daal tadka vali and aloo jeera with chapati. The preparation took some 15 mins and to my delight it was freshly made with low oil content. The taste was good and close to home cooked food. After stuffing myself it was time to pay the bill and guess what it was just Rs. 130-150. I left the place with a smile and thoughts of coming back. I revisited the place for next few week mainly for daal tadkawali, paranthas, mix veg and chapatis. But the problem with this place is that although taste is good it is not distinct and difficult to keep you hooked for a long time. Plus the shoddy interiors are not inviting enough. The place is recommended if your are tired of junk and oil rich Hyderabadi food and looking for freshly made food with low oil PS: They have increased the prices by 20-25% on all the items. It is no longer "the most affordable place around". Recommendations - A TV is a must. Add some desserts. The place can look much better with some innovative ideas. Food: 2.5/5 Service: 3/5 Ambience: 1/5 - Khansama will not qualify for the word ambience :-) Meal for 2: Rs 250-300

Punjabi Rasoi

Punjabi Rasoi is the place to go for those who crave for North Indian food. Food is good as long as it is Indian. Service is prompt, although ambiance is not very pleasing. Must try is the Afghani Nan which is a bit sweet but nice and dehati chicken is also nice. Avoid the veg/ non veg thali.

Cream Stone

I think it is called Cream Stone and not Cold Stone. But as they say whats in the name..Creamstone is perfect replica of Cold Stone, the US ice cream chain. All their flavour are nicely made..whats more exciting is to see the staff enjoying making the ice cream for you. The aura of the place is awesome and makes a perfect place for late night ice cream. My favorites include mix fruits and death by chocolate! Must say it is much better than its close competitors like Ice Station and melting moments
