After many years - at least eight - I recently wnet back to MTR to have 'meals' as expected there was a lot of items and one has to be careful not to indulge in each too much in order to preserve your appettite for the remaining items...
Taste was great as expected - I was suprised to be able to recognize some of the staff ! They accept reservations you can book your seat - and show up on the appointed time ( and wait for a short time)
My guess is that over the years, the crowds have diminished here - but we enjoyed the 'meals'
Shanti sagar has maintained their quality over many years - I went back today after almost 6 years and the Gobi manchurian was still just as good !
Their food is rich - and
they use cashew generously in their cooking.
Service is good - they had fixed the tattered cushions between the last time I visited and now :-)
In the evening I used to enjoy their pav bhaji - if you request they will chop up the bread and mis it up with the hot bhaji - different way to eat Pav Bhaji
Big Bazaar has tried to re-creat the Walmart experience and has succeeded.
While bulk of the branded consumer goods are sold at the MRP, there are quite a few items on sale - that is what i guess as a consumer you need to track.
I did find the prices on vegetables to be same or slightly less than food world / M K Ahmed
The ambience was better than what I
had expected - I found the food court and play area for kids quite convenient. Food prices were at darshini levels.
Food quality was reasonably good - for the price.
