A 59 year old male relative of mine was rushed to ACURA hospital on new years eve with a heart attack. He did not receive any emergency treatment. Not even oxygen was administered, which is a basic treatment for any emergency, let alone a heart attack. This is substandard care considering ACURA considers itself a speciality hospital and gross negligence on part of the doctor. Even basic emergency medications were not administered. The doctor took his own time to attend considering it was an emergency. After wasting crucial time, decided he was incapable of managing the case, asked that the patient be transferred to St. John's hospital, where the patient subsequently passed away. The patient was transferred in an ACURA ambulance which did not have the facilities to transfer a critical patient. Perhaps ACURA should advertise itself as a speciality hospital providing substandard and irresponsible care and contributing to ill health of the unfortunate public who should go there for treatment. It would be wiser if the doctors there actually learnt basic medicine, prior to even talking to a patient. As for a rating, I would not even give it a star!!!
