Koshys Bar & Restaurant: Writers, artists, theatre persons, lawyers, and politiciansBangaloreans of any hueswear by this restaurant. Definitive to Bangalore culture, probably even the cornerstone of it, Koshy's is where people come together to catch up, talk shop, brainstorm on a script or interpret the fine print of law. The extensive menu and delicious food only add up to what is perhaps an unadulterated Bangalore experience.

Koshy's has and remains one of my favorite places to eat in Bangalore.. Hats off to Prem Koshy for reminding us of the Bangalore we grew up in.
I think its management has changed now.The food which was used to unique in bengaluru has now lost its taste.Very poor ambience and waiters are very arrogant. They dont even have patience to take our order forget abt suggesting. The food was served was very cold. Totally disappointed.
I heard a lot about this place from many so my friends and me decided to go.Though we had to wait for long we finally got a table for 6. The Service was so bad and the guy taking the order seemed very frustrated and angry. He even interrupted are personal talk and then refused to recommend a few best dishes among all.. It was really disappointing. The spoons and the fork were just brought and piled at one place on the table. And to add on to all this the food was served very cold.We had to ask them to heat it and serve again.the guy who took the order comes to are table argues and then mocks and goes away. On the whole a very bad experience at this place.
i enjoyed my last sunday afternoon lunching at the former 'jewel box' in its new avatar. the ambience, the service and the food was superb. what was not, was it's non wheelchair accessibility from the front entrance or even a disabled or senior citizen friendly entrance from st. mark's road. with a generally severe arthritic condition of 26 years, my replaced hips and knee joints had to be hauled over a very high step that caused the socket of one hip to dislodge slightly and i am in severe suffering as nothing can be done but bear it. it needs ramps...we also had a 92 year old lady in our group. please install a gradual ramp with railing into the entrance to enable people with disability to enjoy your hospitality without suffering...thanks ... A good place to booze with the fish fingers...bit expensive but affordable....
Good food and bad service doesn't gel well... people who visited this place during the good old B'lore days (70s and 80s) do find this place nostalgic and those who are regulars here are treated well... guess that tells the story. :)
Food is fine, however, the place falls down on its customer orientation. Further to my personal agony, the same effect (low customer orientation) does not extend to firang customers.
Given the reasonably good food joints around Koshy's, such high headedness is just not acceptable/
I used to be regular there and make a considerably large bill and used to leave a fat tip. Evene then past couple of experiences has left me and my family sour and we discovered some better joints near by :)

There are 3 sections in this age old restaurant... Smoking section has its old age aura still. Non smoking section has a tinge of new age. There is Koshy's Chill out which is for people young at heart.

Damn good menu and food is awesome :)

One of the oldest cafes in the city. A great place to hang out with friends. Don't miss the French Toast when you decide to eat here...
