Desun Hospital in Kolkata â Super specialists in fleecing patients !!
I couldn't help share this with the masses, not for anything, but to create some awareness among the people in Kolkata so they can stay miles away from this so called âHospitalâ. My mother in law, who is suffering from Parkinsons, was having problem in passing stool for three days. The situation became severe on Saturday night and she was in urgent need for an enema. She was rushed to Desun hospital where she was administered an enema to relieve her. However, instead of releasing, the hospital insisted that her heart and kidneys were weak and she should be put in ICU, with ventilators!! My neighbour in Santoshpur, Jadavpur was in the hospital for almost a month with stomach pain - the hospital was not able to detect the reason for it. They performed huge amount of tests which allegedly turned out to be inconclusive. Only a day or two after he got himself released, he had to be admitted (this time to a better hospital in the vicinity) in emergency. He is still in ventilator and chances look bleak. Within a day or two the reason for the ailment was found out (which Desun failed to find out in a month). Funniest of all, Desun hospital was planning to bring in a Psychiatrist to check if the patient was really having stomach pain or it was just a figment of imagination - the point when my neighbour decided enough is enough and

Had a very troublesome experience at this desun hospital. Negligence with my sister in law had almost pushed her to the brink of crossing the line. She was admitted to the hospital with Dengue fever few days back. On 9th Sep 2012, the blood test done in the morning showed that the platelets have been reduced below 20000 (which is a very critical situation and can cause internal injuries by virus). They told this news in the evening and also said us to arrange for the platelets as they did not had the facility. We were really shocked to hear this and also without clues form where or how to arrange platelets at such a short notice.
