Editor's Note
Succulent, authentic Bengali food, that's Oh! Calcutta for you. Popular ever since its inception in 2002, Oh! Calcutta dishes up delectable Bengali fare in an almost old-world surrounding that instantly makes you feel at home. Decorated with old photographs and paintings, the ambience at Oh! Calcutta is inviting and warm. Try the prawns cooked in coconut gravy and served in a coconut shell or the boneless beckti fish in tangy mustard sauce. The steamed Hilsa and the prawns are also great options. Oh! Calcutta restaurants have now sprung up in many metros, so Bengalis away from home don't have to go far looking for good old Bengali food.

Amazing lunch buffet. One of the best place to try bengali cuisines ...we had gone with our group and tried out almost everything. They should include other good fish dishes also in buffet many. Less options of non-veg starters. It's good for one time.
My favorite dining place is oh! Calcutta. Whoever visits it has the same response. I thoroughly enjoy the food of Goldbrick also which is a pure non-vegetarian restaurant.

Ala carte menu is fine...however service is super slow especially when the buffet is on. The buffet started of well after the restaurant launch, but I found out recently that the buffet is not worth and home cooked Bengali food home has more variety and taste. If you plan to host non bengali or friends from abroad be there in the evening for better service.

I was once embarrased when I had business visitors from the USA and ordered Daab Chingri as a classic Bengali dish. The dish arrived in used and stale and red coconuts shells.

The whole thing has become watered down. Hope they realise and improve.
