JJ School Of Arts: The School grants bachelor's degrees in fine art and sculpture, and Master's degrees in fine art. One of the oldest institutions teaching art in the country, the JJ School of Art was founded in 1857, and is affiliated with the University of Mumbai. Architecture and Applied Art began to be taught separately from 1958, in the JJ School of Applied Art. Famous alumni include Akbar Padamsee, B Prabha, S H Raza, F N Souza, Laxman Shrestha, Jeram Patel, and Riyas Komu, to name but a handful.
