Editor's Note
1947: The sepia-toned 1947 celebrates Indian independence and cuisine, for a historic meal. Pictures of the Indian flag (and its earlier versions), a canon, charkha and other Swaraj memorabilia greet you at 1947. The vegetarian North Indian fare has quite a few carnivorous fans too. Don't forget to order the Amba Panna (raw mango drink) and Chaas (buttermilk) which combine well with the kulchas and sabzis. One of the few fine-dine options in area, come celebrate the freedom to gorge here.

It is an Ok kind of experience
This restaurant is ideal for families and one of my personal favourites. Very nice and sober ambience, filled with patriotic paintings as well as that of Bangalore in 1940's. Though it is crowded most of the time, reservation of tables is just a call away. There is a great variety in soups, starters and sabji's as well. Veg Shoran soup should definitely be included in your order. It is a Kashmiri style sopu made from Mix vegetable broth tempered with butter cinnamon. Apart from Amba Panna, Fruit Punch and Mocktails are worth a try. The food would cost Rs.1000 approx for 4 people. I think its one of the best places for North Indian food. A great place for a perfect lunch with family. Satisfaction and a smile guaranteed.
