BEAWARE!!! I had a terrible experience in this hospital. I was visiting my parents in bangalore. My 1 yr old daughter had cellulitis in her right leg which is a local infection from an insect bite. I was told by attending pediatrician Dr Shashidhar to go to Vinayaka hospital and Dr Ashok Rao would take care. The only reason I chose this pediatrician and this hospital coz of the distance to my parents house. My daughter had IV antibiotics for few day and on day 5 cellulitis started draining and Ashok Rao said he would do an incision in her leg and drain out all the pus. I just listened to him and thought my daughter is in good hands. Incision was performed inside operating room and my daughter came out with bandage dressing done in her leg and was told to follow up after 3 days. Dr Ashok Rao said from now on there will be no infection as he took out all the pus and bone xray looks fine. When I went for dressing after 3 days they opened bandage in front of me and I saw big wide and deep hole in my daughters leg which Ashok Rao created in the process of drainig out pus. I was told and convinced that big hole in her leg would close in few days. So till 3 weeks after that I kept on seeing this doctor for dressing to be done in her leg. By end of 3rd week Dr Ashok Rao checked my daughter and said the wound from the incision he made is healed and the little bit opening and drainage from the wound will heal by keeping it open. Then I travel back home and took my daughter to her regular pediatrician who has been seeing her always, and on seeing that the wound is not dry even after 3 weeks, my peidatrician immediately told me to go to childrens hospital. There she was diagnosed with bone infection in the same site where the incision was made by Dr Ashok Rao. She went thru a surgery to get rid of the infectin in her bones and is still taking medication. A small piece of bone was completely damaged and had to be removed. Dr Ashok Rao is very marketing personality, great talker, but a horrible doctor with no knowledge. He works on hit and trial basis. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS TO THIS HOSPITAL. THIS IS A GENERAL HOSPITAL WITH NO GOOD DOCTORS IN IT.
