In response to Mr. Niranjan, In any hospital or medical facility, a patient or his relative has to right to ask his treating doctor the nature of the tests being performed. He can question the indication for a test as well the justification for the cost. No sensible doctor will ever order a test just to earn money. Though I will agree with you that this is a very bad practice in every corner of our country where doctors order tests (lab test, radiology tests etc) and get a commission on these tests. As far as your statement that we grow our business by ordering unnecessary tests is not correct. As far as I am concerned and my team of doctors are concerned, we have much more interesting and passionate things to do. In case you do have the time and the determination, feel free to meet me in my department and I will sort out all your queries and doubts. Email me directly at kaiser@transplantationliver.com to fix up a meeting with me. I may not be sure about others but my conscience is quite clear. I have read the reviews of BGS Global Hospital on this website. Patients expect 100 percent results. Especially if they spend huge amounts of money. What they don't understand is that management of complicated and advanced medical problems is not easy in any advanced tertiary care center. Mr. Gurjar's mother dies of pulmonary embolism which is a known complication of any major abdominal surgery. This is usually explained to patients at the time of taking consent for surgery. Pulmonary embolism is not entirely preventable. The other person who lost his grandmother also does not seem to understand the problem. It seems that the lady had not passed urine for more than a day and had some pain in her toe or foot. Old people develop serious neurological problems that need proper investigation. Despite investigations, the diseases that we detect may not be treatable. Cost is another issue and investigations are another issue. Tests are costly but this does not mean that important tests should not be done. Occasionally it seems that an excess amount is spent on old patients by their relatives only to find that the eventual outcome may still be bad. It is for people to decide whether they still want to spend or not. I am part of the Liver Transplant Team at BGS Global Hospital and I am proud to say that we run one of the best Advanced Liver Disease, Hepatobiliary Surgery and Liver Transplant Programs in our country. I am often asked a question about Liver Transplant. "We are spending such a lot of money on the Transplant Surgery. We want 100 percent guarantee that the surgery will be successful." This is a ridiculous question. Even GOD does not guarantee a complete 100 years to life to everybody. How can mortal humans give that guarantee. Another interesting remark by some patients' attendants. "Liver Transplant is so costly. It is better to get one daughter married off than get a transplant. What is the logic of this argument. They are willing to pay dowry for the daughter's wedding but not willing to spend on liver transplant to save one's life. I agree that there are short comings in every hospital including BGS Global Hospital but I can say with certainty that some of the doctors working here are excellent and really work in a scientific fashion. Especially for Liver Diseases, Gastrointestinal Disorders, Liver and Pancreas Surgeries and Multiorgan Transplantation, you can safely trust the doctors there. Mishaps will still happen. It is life and we have to accept it. Blaming doctors for everything is not the solution. I still encourage any patient, who feels that he has not got appropriate treatment to go to a court of law where all aspects can be discussed openly in scientific manner.
