Excessive security : Many patients believe it is their right to be rude and bossy. May not be you- but there are lots of people in this world :-) The security is necessary Necrotizing fasciits: Its a condition where if consent is not given for amputation its very difficult to save the patient. Most patients refuse amputation. (understandable). And when they are offered amputation they believe that it is unnecessary Minor surgery on thumb : Not really sure what the surgery was, but some apparently simple procedures are in reality complicateed. And if a patient requests an AC ward charges are much higher there Searching for root cause of anemia: It is quite important to find out the root cause of anemia. That is , is there a gastrointestinal bleed. Or is it poorly functioning bone marrow In cases of gastrointestinal bleed, which are occult specific treatment is required. It is a difficult diagnosis to establish. Requires ruling out of a bone marrow cause of anemia. And about junior doctors seeing patients - they do! It is a medical college hospital. But they are closely monitored and every clinical decision is done only in consultation with a senior doctor. Lot of clarifications and discussions take place out of patient eye. YOu can discuss your doubts withthe doctor. They would be glad to help Further if a patient has been admitted for long, and no new symptoms are present, priority will be given to patients with acute symptoms. Though we wish it were possible, we can be only at one place at a time. There are no experiments conducted on patients. Guided procedures, especially when situated near major arteries are done with extreme care- here safety is given priority. Hence we would err on the side of caution - reattempting the FNAC instead of puncturing a vessel. Regarding specific doctor issues, especially regarding doctor fees please bring it to the notice of the management. IF you did have a bad experience wrt such behavior you will get an apology and remedial action In the emergency department, lot of tests are done under the assumption that if you came in the middle of the night for treatment- your condition must be severe enough to bother you. To avoid missing anything a panel of tests may be ordered. In the emergency department which is extremely busy it is extremely difficult to discuss in detail with the patient. The main aim is to stabilize extremely sick patients and prioritize treatment
