Feedback/complaint against FORTIS HOSPITAL management/mismanagement team. I/ My family have become a very regular customer/patient of the FORTIS HOSPITAL after getting reference about their reputation from my friends. Last year during the month of March I had surgery for Gall bladder removal and ERCP surgery for Bile duct stone removal. After the surgery also I used to get abdomen pain every now and then. Suddenly on 15th Of June, I was on my way to the hospital for my wife’s’ appointment (scheduled checkup) with her Doctor and the pain gale out while I was driving. Fortunately I reached hospital and went straight to the Emergency Ward, there I had some treatment. I gave my Car to Valet Parking. After discussion with my Doctor, he suggested for an MRI and get admitted to undergo ERCP again. The actual pain starts from here. 1st Problem:- When I went to the Admission counter and realize that each room category has got different fee structure for same surgery.First impression was, is it a Hotel or a Hospital? When I ask the reason for this difference, the reply was “It because of difference in amenities”. Then why is the rate of room different? Then pops in another question are the doctors going to perform the surgery properly or are they going to use a lesser quality medicine/equipment if the room with the lesser rate is taken. After waiting for 2 hours in my condition, fortunately I got admitted The amounts mentioned are fictional (For Example) Room Category Room Rate Surgery Rate General Ward (Multiple Bedroom) 2200 / night 35k Twin Sharing 3500/ night 55k Private Deluxe 5000/night 70k 2nd Problem:-As soon as I got admitted, a duty Doctor came and enquired about my old surgery history and confirms my ERCP surgery for next day early morning by 0930 hrs. 17th Of July. On 17th I was asked to take bath and be ready by around 5:30 hrs. And I thought I was getting ready for the surgery. By around 0830 hrs. when my wife went and enquired about my surgery time, the nurses on duty were surprised. None of the nurses on duty knew that I have a surgery by 0930 hrs. A reputed Hospital like FORTIS and what a miscommunication. The nurses contacted the Doctor and confirmed the surgery and they started the preparation for the surgery only to be postponed by another three hours. 3rd Problem (Most frustrating):-As I mentioned in the beginning that I have given my Car for Valet Parking since I was not well. After admission I left the Car in there parking lot and my key with the Valet parking Team from 16th June – 18 June after taking the required Day pass. They collected my Contact number when I took the Day pass. The shocker came to me on 18th June,15 when I went to collect my Vehicle, they brought the vehicle from the parking and the front Bumper and left fender was completely smashed. When I enquired about it, they told me that a lady banged my vehicle but have paid Money for it. My question here is “Why I was not informed about it? “and “why was I not allowed to speak to the lady? “ . Fair enough that the Transport supervisor told me that “Fortis will pay the amount for repair”. The Vehicle was taken to the Garage next to Fortis “Carz”. I was very frustrated that I did not want to see my vehicle in that condition anymore. The Garage team told that I could collect the vehicle on Saturday. I.e. on 20th June, 15. On the same day, I received a call in the morning from the Garage team and I went to pick the vehicle only to get myself another shock. Not even a single liter of petrol was left in the vehicle. I was really-really frustrated, the reply I got from the Transport Supervisor and Garage Team was “Your vehicle was damaged we repaired it, we don’t know nothing about petrol”. Who on earth do I need to ask then, my vehicle was with them, and Key was with them, then who is the culprit. To add up to my frustration, I found one event management company visiting card and an address of a Convention hall somewhere in Vijayanagar. I wonder how those things ended up in my Car. No one has got any answer for that as well.Whatever I tried, it was of no use as they were talking very rudely specially the Fortis Transport supervisor with whom the vehicle was there for 2 nights. I know even after seeing this kind of complaint also there will be no action taken from the mismanagement team. Would like to inform people in this city to be aware of these situations so that it does not happen to you.
