Hi, I had booked a room with my fiance for 1 day since he had an urgent interview on the weekends. We usually do not stay in cheap guest houses but since it was Diwali rush so most of the hotels were pre booked. We reached early morning around 7 am and the manager wasn't available. We were still able to book it because some junior worker was around and he took the payment of 1 day without even giving us a receipt. We gave both our ID cards but he refused to accept both and said that only 1 person's ID proof was enough. We selected the room and got settled. Around lunch time when me and my fiance came downstairs for a walk, the manager started shouting on us, blaming us that we are staying illegally without a proof of marriage certificate. Well, we both were very calm and tried to explain the situation to him as politely as possible. This guy seemed to hate north indians I guess. He and his wife were very abusive and rude. We even told them that you can speak to our parents and take our ID xerox but they started asking for marriage certificate. Now, who carries a certificate everywhere??!!! What the hell!! I got angry but then I thought that it's better to leave the place since he (my fiance) had interview the next day and we wanted peace of mind. The manager started threatening us and said to leave the room immediately or he will call the police. We told him that we have already payed full amount for that day and we hardly stayed for 4 hrs before we left for lunch, therefore if we leave now then we should get the receipt of payment made and half amount refunded. On this the manager's wife started screaming and said that pay 300 Rs. extra then only we will give the receipt but they did not accept the idea of refunding half amount.. My fiance told them that it was cheating and they were doing wrong, on hearing this the manager started pulling my fiance's collar and this was too much to bear. I don't understand that why sangeetha guest house people are so narrow minded. It's not that we are hiding and staying, we gave our PAN ID too, but he refused to accept that instead started saying that if you are not married then get out or show the marriage certificate. When I was talking to the manager with kindness, he did not let me speak and continuously kept shouting. We felt very insulted and suddenly had no option left and without saying much , we just left without the receipt. I am never going to that hell again. I will tell all my friends that never to go. Their bedding is full of bed bugs too. The staff people are weird, they look at female guests with lustful intention. This is my personal experience. Sangeetha guest house manager should learn some manners , learn to respect their customers and deal sensibly in critical situations. Screaming, misbehaving and manhandling with customers is spoiling the image of their hotel. It's a hell to stay there.
