It has been 10 years since I left Chennai, but my encounter with authentic south indian food came at Andhra Bhavan,CP Delhi. By virtue of my stay at JNU my telugu friends asked me to take a try at Andhra Bhavan. At first on a sunday evening I was taken aback at the buzzing crowd at the place and I was doubtful of a seat for hours. Thnx for my telugu friends i got a place. The thali served daily as well as the biriyani served on weekends are famous as delhi's India Gate itself. The thali is laid in a plate with small compartments having a kheer, a vegetable,pickle,pappad, a dhall and mixed rice which might me tamarind rice or lemon rice. The taste is absolutely awesome and its mild too. Dotry the different powderswith ghee mixed with rice as well as the gongura pickle mixed with rice,Yummmmmm!!!!!! On top of it for 110 rupees,they serve unlimited rice and subzi and dhall, for pappads u gtta pay extra. At the end of the day u have a sumptuous dinner,as we normally skipour lunches so that we fill our tanks at AP Bhavan!!!LOL!!! In toto nice place,great service, tasty veg and non veg food, and nice fruit pan to top it off for 5 bucks!!!! we had a grt time and hope u folks too skip ur lunch too!!!!! Bon Appetit!!!!
