Spice Cinemas in Noida, which is considered to be one of the best cinemas
in NCR and one of the costliest too, it was an agonizing experience when we
went to see the 10:20 PM show of the movie "The Town" on Saturday, October
9th 2010.
The projector of the Audi 5, where the movie is being featured, was faulty
and still the irresponsible and arrogant management went ahead to sell out
the tickets. What was worse to know, was the fact that the projector has
been in a faulty condition for over the past 6 months and no measures have
been taken to correct it.
When the viewers, including us, protested against this, nothing was done to
sort out the issue and a good 2 hours of our time was wasted. No one from
the senior management was available or showed any interest in coming over
to sort things out.
To make the situation worse, the management sent over some cops to disburse
the viewers. The cops were clearly in no mood to listen to the viewers and
were just supporting the staff of Spice cinemas. No compensation or apology
was given to the viewers who did not get to see the movie and wasted 2
hours of time hoping that some justice would be done.
But then it's India where bribery and bureaucracy prevails and all
Government departments shine in this. This was just another example.
Well, I think whoever was there for the movie yesterday, will think twice
before visiting Spice Cinemas.
