My child is about 2year 9 months; he had taken admission in Eurokids, Hutichins main road branch, Bangalore, in "Play Group" class, 6 months back. For the last 2 days, one teacher has physically punished my child by slapping him; and pulling his ears. She has made him to sit in a corner many a time, while other children play; thus, subjecting the child to mental torture. Today, when my wife went to school to receive the child, the child told that his class teacher had pulled his ears hard and the ears are paining. When my wife checked with the teacher, she initially refused; But when the child spoke in his sweet language, "Miss, you pulled my ears; it is paining", she confessed. When my wife approached to Ms. Kalpa, the principal of the branch, she misbehaved saying that, "you get out of here! I just do not want to listen to anything". She created a big scene there by shouting at my wife at the top of her voice. We just wanted to know the reasons why they are subjecting my child to physical and mental torture. Instead of explaining and apologizing, she was trying to be intimidating and cover up the matter. Later on when I went to discuss with her, she apologized and confessed that the school has not enough staff to take care of all the children. So, in my opinion, no matter what the problems are there in the school, any parents will not tolerate subjecting a child to physical and mental torture. Also, shouting at the parents in side the school in front of her staff and school children by the principal is not at all a mature and professional behavior. Hence, my feeling is that the principal and the staff are not qualified to handle the development of your little ones. More than the physical punishment, we were deeply pained by the punishment of making the child sit in a corner alone, while other childern are playing and enjoying. He is going to Play School, but he is not allowed to play! So, avoid sending your kids to this Eurokids, Cox Town / Huthins main road branch. I shifted my child to Poddar Jumbo Kids, at once; now he is very happy there. He does not want to come back home from the school.
