Best puffs and pastries in Bangalore

Rains are here again and so is the sudden craving for a hot chicken puff or a delightfully sinful Blackforest pastry. And with the city teeming with quaint patisseries tucked away in quiet corners, perfecting the art of baking, there is ample scope for you to pamper yourself. If you have been scouring the city for that perfect pastry or puff, look no further. Let us give your nose a nudge with this delectable list of boulangeries and patisseries in the city.

As far as patisseries go, Sweet Chariot is still an old favourite. It has a range of fresh cream and fruit cakes, gooey calorie-laden dark chocolate cakes and the chocolate mousse. The pineapple fresh cream pastry here is legendary. If you are looking for a birthday cake or a quick nibble, Sweet Chariot can be safely counted on.

Another renowned patisserie is the Cake Shop of the Taj—bearing the quality stamp of the Taj Group of Hotels—which specialises in exotic and delectable cakes and pastries. Its range of savouries includes treats like miniature mushroom quiche and golden bun stuffed with mutton.

If you are really serious about your pastry, Painted Platters is a must-visit. It has outlets at the restaurant Frescos on Cunningham Road as well as one on Lavelle Road. Its cakes look too good to eat and are some of the best that you can get in the city.

Just Bake, the new kid on the block, has outlets across the city and offers a variety of cakes and pastries.

If breads, buns, rolls and puffs are your weakness, here is your chance to nurture it at the best bakeries in the city. All Saints , around for a few generations, is by far the most well-known of them all. Breads of every kind—white, brown, French loaf, hard crust, dinner rolls—savouries, such as, mutton samosas, puffs and an assortment of stuffed rolls and buns adorn its shelves, tempting you to make a quick stopover.

Another old timer is Thom's Bakery in Frazer town. Here everything literally sells like hot cakes, straight out of the oven and picked up within an hour. Among all its delightful snacks and savouries, not to be missed are jam doughnut and chocolate éclair.

Daily Bread, a chain of boulangerie and patisserie, has garnered a lot of popularity with its fresh pastries, exotic breads and other such goodies. If you can’t find a good cheese croissant or a baguette anywhere, this is the place to come to. Other picks on offer are delectable sandwiches, salads and stuffed paninis.

With the city bakeries firing up their ovens and serving the choicest short eats, your tea party can never be the same again.

I would be wary of Daily Bread cause it has been bought over by britannia.
It was a great place for the best pastries and brown bread wraps.
But britannia is going to spoil it all. If you think that britannia is good think again. None of britannia's food products use natural ingridients, from their biscuits to their cheese all have artificial color(which is nothing by chemical dyes imported from china), flavours and toxic preservatives.

The places that you mentioned are quite typical and cliche'd. Ask any true bangalorean and he'' tell you that the best puff's in Blore can be found at Albert Bakery. They've been a part of Blore history as they opened shop pre 1925!!!
