see, in furniture, most of them are importing from China/Malaysia and some from Thailand / Indonesia and other countries.

For anybody who wants to buy the furniture for their individual needs say in 20 ft container or 40HQ container, they must fly themselves to China. There is market called Lecong, shunde and Longjiang ( 10 kms) having more than 2000 -3000 showrooms to select from.

Even if you do pick and choose piece by piece , furniture as well as home decoration items, there is atleast 222-28 percent of the cost saving after all the expense and a stay of about 7 days in China.

Important is you should have your layout, plan, and other details in mind. Budget allocations, material idea ( MDF/Wood Veneers/ Solid wood/etc etc) and to some extent the theme / style in mind. There are plenty of good indian sourcing companies in China who work on fixed commissions. Its worth to give them commission to avoid the head ache of language and document handling.

An ideal wood veneer bed room set of 5 pieces would cost rought around 35000 INR to 40000 landing cost in India.
Fabric sofa set of 1+2+3 = INR 25000-30000 , average quality, catagory B
= INR 30,000 to 40000, good and standard classic catagory A
= Upto 1,00,000 available in Fabric sofa

Semi leather-- depends on what you need and what you choose. between 40,000 to 1,00,000

Leather -- from 70,000 to 5,00,000 INR

dinning table and chairs -- simple ( 1+4) glass top with simple basic chair - 8000-9000
it goes high from 10,000 to 30,000 also

Glass teapoys -- start from 600 INR to 10,000 INR

Some people say MDF is not good. Its not the fact, good quality MDF with wood veneers is as good as solid wood and in fact better than solid wood. This is technical, its true.

You need proper homework, time, planning , clear ideas before you leave to China for purchase.

Kids bedroom sets are available in best quality around 40,000 to 70000 INR.

Massage chairs in HYBD sold starting at 1lakh to 3 lakh are merely availabe at 35000 and upto 80,000 INR best of best qualilties.

Well I know all this becasue I had been earlier working for a company in China, now in Dubai.

Durain, Tangent, Kian, Khazana , Home centre all buy from China.

Durian -- buy from Guangdong province and Zhjiang Province
Home centre -- Shenzhen and Lecong area
Khazhana -Shunde/Lecong, Shenzhen and shanghai

Of all, Durian , Tangent and Home centre qualities are just ok, but their pricing have much profit.

Kian is expensive and high end only.

Some of the famous brands in China: Steel Land, Landbond, BOP, Kinwai, Knhome, KAKA Sofa, and many others are there. One must even go to see Red star maccaline showroom mall to get the best new trend products at bargain price.

In india, the practice is to add 100% margin for selling to customers, and if inventroy sell at discount of 40-60 percent, still make atleast 30-40 percent of profit.

I agree for Kian ,Home Centre & Khazana are good furniture stores but Durian,Home Town are not giving that good quality . They give furniturw which may look good for 2-3 months but after one scratch you may need to either live with same or replace the furniture. I understand after doing research on this market i found that most of the stores has poloshed mdf stuff which looks good but not durable & cant' be refurbished in future , i would rather suggest to buy veneer furniture or laminate furniture. Buying these are actually value for money. You can also try INHABIT fo same.
