Express Packers & Movers

It was shocking beyond comprehension and I foolishly tried to talk to them about professional ethics. Pretty soon I realized it didn't mean a thing to them and they knew they have got me trapped fair-and-square. Helplessly, I agreed and asked them to come over ASAP so that we can finish the job that day itself (had to fly next day early morning and I was out-of-time). Their inefficiency was obvious the moment they started packing. They delivered my goods full two days after committed date (resulting in me extending my hotel stay for as many days) and when they finally delivered (on 4th January'07), everything was in bad shape (damaged fridge, broken crockey/showpiece and torn bedsheet that they had ingenuily used to hold some miscellaneous items. Imagine that from packers-and-movers). To my horror, they had misplaced one large piece of luggage. As on 14th JAnuary, I am still following up with them to get my luggage. There has been no clear communication and most of the time my calls are unanswered (whether I call from my cellphone or my office-phone). On occasions when I had been able to catch them on phone, there had been promises of getting back to me in "10-minutes". "10 minutes", which have nasty habit of extending themselves to days, untill I succeed in cacthing them again. How more 'insensitive' any professional-organization can be. But then, they showed the 'professionalism' from the start itself. It was naive of me to trust them.

They may not be the worst Packers and Movers in India but my personal experience with them is nothing short of HORRIBLE. They had packed my stuff on 25th December and they are yet to deliver the last piece of luggage after more than 20th days (JAnuary 14th, as of this writing). Meanwhile, I am silently suffering with damaged fridge, broken crockery/showpieces, misplaced goods / luggage and a car whose odometer shows it was driven 850KM in the process of transporting. Express Packers (http://www.expresspackers.com) epitomize Unprofessionalism, inefficiency and insensitivity. Insensitivity because they answered most of my compliants (regarding damage) with dismissive, 'We can't do anything' response and have now stopped taking my calls. Their executives are simply not picking my calls (when made from my mobile/office-phone). I had originally engaged them for transporting my househld items only as I wasn't comfortable giving my car to them. I had to complete my 'packing and moving' by 25th and had my flight booked for 26th early morning. I wanted to finish the packing/moving on 23rd itself but they kept delaying it on one pretext or another. Finally they called me on 25th morning (the day they were supposed to turn up at 8AM) and said that they will not be interested unless I engage them for transporting my car as well. It was shocking beyond comprehension and I foolishly tried to talk to them about professional ethics. Pretty soon I realized it didn't mean a thing to them an
