Ego Cafe

I've been going to ego cafe since the time it started and consequentially now, many of my friends are regular customers. While I love the food & decor, the management is another issue altogether. It's recession time & I understand that businesses are under pressure to meet the bottom line. However, they take it a step to far given that they blatantly target richer & older people. This is evidenced by several things: 1) At three seperate occasions, I've asked for a reservation. They promise to reserve a table but when I arrive there is no table to be found. Today for instance, they told me that they would hold the table but when I came, there was a table available but they apparently preferred to give the table to someone else. My guess is that they had estimated who could spend more and went with the higher billings 2) They ask you to move to a "smaller table." This is allright once in a while but when you are waiting for friends and don't want to be holed into a corner... its a different story. Waiters begin by asking you politely but it soon descends to a "please leave if you can't shift to a smaller table" particularly since out other customers might buy far more than you can. 3) Managers like accusing you of things - So today, when I protested. The manager told me " I you're clearly unacceptable given that you use your laptop " However - No one EVER told me to not use my laptop, there is no public display banning it & other people use their laptops all the time
