I have been living in the city all my life, and I didn know that there was such a crisis of centers for radiology in Mumbai. Last week, I needed a hip x-ray, and I went to several clinics. According to my doctor, it should have cost me a few hundred rupees; perhaps a thousand or so at mostbut that was hardly the case. Some of the clinics were even openly over charging for pushing my appointment up sooner! I finally went to a government hospital, and they gave me an x-ray from a rickety old machine. As suspected, the doctor said that the plates were far too scratched and blurred to draw any conclusive diagnosis, and that I needed another one. Finally, a friend took me to Lilavati Hospital and Research Center in Bandra. They have indeed facilitated the best center for radiology in Mumbai. Not only is it affordable, but also handled by experts under the best machines. Lilavati is indeed among the best hospitals in Mumbai.
