on 12.09.2012 I went for lunch. In the dining hall few inmates were taking lunch. In the morning we have to place the order for lunch and dinner. Option for non-veg given and placed order. However, the steward available in the dinning hall offered the chicken meal to other inmates which was reserved for us. Dinning guest who visited at that openly informs that he will offer the amount for the chicken meal. However,on enquiry the steward named "appu" who was on duty did not serve food instead he said no chicken was avaialble and left the dinning hall. After few minutes temporary steward came to the hall served veg. food. After due verification the above "appu" entered the dinning hall and raised voice he said there was no order for you. However, chicken food order was there for room no. 203. I am the inmate of Room No.203 and requesting for the same. After realizing his mistakes he argued and misbehaved in front of other dinning members which is humiliation in the Tamilnadu House. It is worth to mention here that it is a Home away home who visit Delhi. It is primary responsibility of the catering department to meet out the demand of inmates. If the ordered food could not be available, the same be informed politely. "Krishnamoorthy" next superior who intervened there was also could not advise the "appu" instead he fueled the fire. However, the rude and humiliating behavior of the steward "appu" and supporting action by his next superior Mr.Krishnamoorthy requires stern action in order to avert the same in future for other inmates who visit delhi and stay at Old Tamil Nadu House at Chanakyapuri. This matter was immediately brought to the notice of Dy. secretary ( legal ) who was present at the old house office. As he was incharge of the house this was brought to the notice of RO over phone immediatley. It is a unpleasant and unwarranted experience at Tamilnadu house for the bonafied Govt. employee who came to Delhi to discharge the essential duty.
