Wonderful services. A bit expensive (ofcourse that depends on your spending capability!) compared to others in the vicinity, but totally worth their money. To a careful seeker, their arrangements are of very different standards than their neighbouring pandals.. We chose them for my sisters’ wedding venue and were very happy with the arrangements; Guests and groom’s side were all showering praises. It had rained incessantly for 3 days before the wedding day. However, they made sure that their pandal/ carpets/ ground was all in very good condition, even after such a heavy spell. On a logistical point, we were carefree and didn’t have to monitor the nitty gritties of the venue at all (Although time-to-time meetings and dialogues are always good to ensure that both client and service provider are on the same page). Last but not the least, we were eligible for a refund on the booking amount; however, we missed to notice that it was not written anywhere on the receipt (initial parchi). Initially, there was a disagreement on whether or not such an amount was due to us. However, giving in to my personal request, the owner (Mr. Amit) did oblige and returned us the amount. Might seem trivial but I bet very few would do that, given that we had no written proof, and his own memory told him otherwise....

Please please please DO NOT TRUST THEM ON YOUR SPECIAL DAYS! QUICK REVIEW: Old, expired products Arrogant, untrained staff (specially the so-called senior artists!) Unprofessional, callous attitude of the staff as well as the manager. Advice to potential customers: Look beyond the reception lady/ manager! Manager (at the reception) is just a sugar-coated diva – with no knowledge of makeup They care about their bucks – not even their reputation. DETAILED REVIEW: I am a working 30 year old, so obviously have been through the grind of several big/ small/ flashy/ friendly parlours at many times in my life. My one (&only) sister was getting married on 08 Feb 2013, at Rohini (my mom’s place). I now live in Gurgaon (since 2009) and my time-tested parlour in Shalimar Bagh was a bit far away, so I decided to book an appointment at Lakme (going by the brand name) about a month prior to the event. The lady at the reception was suave and courteous, so I think I was making the right booking. They asked me for Rs 3000 (or3500 I don’t rembr) – that was the top-most quality package for a non-bridal makeup/ dress-up. I asked if they had a MAC option – she said ‘her’ option is best in class – and ‘at par’ with MAC. I gave in…. So, on 08 Feb, I reached with my stuff at the parlour (much before scheduled time). Though it was a ‘heavy saaya’ there was only one more party makeup apart from mine. Their ‘senior makeup artist’, starting doing my makeup. Although the parlour was well-decorated, I noticed that the lamp over the makeup mirror was NOT WORKING. Well, after 5 minutes of work on my face, she said my ‘skin is extremely dry’ so she made me WASH IT OVER and start from ground zero. (btw, I have a very smooth, acne free, spot free skin which I always get compliments for – Don’t we all read it in the magazines about moisturisation before makeup???) I didn’t like her snobbish attitude (we pay for the service not your attitude girl! ) – but worse still I didn’t like what she was doing to my face!! I had asked for a light makeup and here she poured over layers of eyeliner all over my eyelids – making them look so heavy. So far, so bad – I was in a rush to get home in time, I ignored my face and decided to ‘not spoil my mood’. I was now moved to adjacent room, where two females – in total hurry – were trying to help me drape the dupatta over my lehnga (It was not a saree, they could atleast be patient with a dupatta ! – but that too seemed like a lot of effort for them. Their expressions said ‘You are wasting our time’ Huh) THE WORST WAS STILL TO COME. The eye makeup started burning into my eyes. My eyes were fiery red, itchy and incessantly teary…. My whole makeup was washing away ! I was looking so messed up!! ‘Oh shucks’ – I screamed for attention! They were so casual and callous about the whole thing. The reception manager came and told me ‘aapki aankhon mein kuch problem hai??’ – as I was recovering from that question, they didn’t seem to agree that my face needs ‘re-work’….. I told them I can’t go like this!! I have to stay up till 7 AM in the morning in the same dress and makeup… and anyways my eyes were burning so fiercely, I couldn’t stand that even for a minute….. THEN CAME THE SHOCKER FROM HER, she said ‘okay we will do your ‘second makeup’ for free though they would generally charge for it!!’ I WAS SHOCKED!! AGAPE!! I had to WASH OVER ONCE MORE – and got a terrible makeup done by a junior artist (as the senior artist had left for the day @6.00 PM !! Wasn’t I ‘assigned’ to her – how could she leave when my makeup was incomplete!!?? ) My whole look was spoiled and my investment on a 30k lehnga was ruined for the want of a decent makeup artist. To add insult to injury, they didn’t have nail paints to match a (pink/ purple) lehnga. Nobody bothered to ask if I would need nailpaint – I had to again literally scream for attention. Nobody helped me with the bangles, anklets – like they would do at any normal parlour if you have taken a party makeup package…. IT WAS A VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE – Had it been any other days, I would have scathed them then and there – but I literally had no choice at that point of time with my sisters’ baraat at the doorsteps.  Please DO NOT TRUST THEM for the important events in your life. There can be make-up mistakes (everybody is human after all) but their whole attitude about the affair was unpardonable, unprofessional and callous to the extreme. They were not concerned about my big occasion, my requirement, me - the customer :(
